Gates Goodies
Gates Goodies
We offer a range of intergenerational programs designed to educate, enlighten, engage, and hopefully delight our members and extended community, including:
Live from the Lot!
Year-round outdoor entertainment for all ages in the Congregation Gates of Prayer parking lot, including drive-in movies, First Friday Concerts (live music following Family Shabbat), and GatesFest, our acclaimed music and arts festival, which brings world-class artists to CGoP!
Trunk or Treat
We decorate our trunks (car trunks, that is!) and have a spooky and fun Halloween trunk or treating for yummy treats and watching a holiday-themed movie. All ages welcome.
PetFest
Our annual, fun-filled, family, and pet-friendly event following the reading of Parshat Noach featuring blessing of the pets, animal readings, pet photos, pet toy making, and more!
Cooking with Bubbe
CGoP's culinary series invites members and local chefs to share their favorite recipes -- from old-school recipes your grandma used to make to modern Israeli fusion cuisine.
Israel Dance
Learn folk and contemporary Israeli dances with Jordan and enjoy some yummy Israeli snacks!
Mah Jongg Club
Keep your brain sharp, improve your mental health, and build community with other members of the congregation who share your love of Mah Jongg. This club is for all levels with regular games and even a tournament.
More Goodies!
From community field trips to the Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience and Walking Clubs to Hanukkah celebrations and presentations on the history of drinking in Nola, and more! "
