Mighty Trains (Pre-K 4)
About the Class
The most important growth and development in the brain happens by the age of 5, and a child's ability to be attentive and follow directions emerges. Structured early learning fosters these abilities for later success in school and in life. Our Mighty Trains Pre-K program prepares children to be ready for their next school experience. Children who participate in high-quality early childhood programs develop better language skills, score higher in school-readiness tests and have better social skills once they enter school. Pre-K enhances what a child learns at home and instills a love of life-long learning. Pre-K gives children a jump start by preparing them for school and enhancing their pre-reading, pre-math, writing skills, language and social skills. By developing these skills children become strong readers and more successful in school. Our classroom offers superior quality programs that include high literacy standards, developmentally appropriate curricula, and qualified teachers. It is a full day program loaded with learning opportunities for discovery and joy. Classroom activities include project-based units, celebrating Jewish holidays, art, drawing, writing skills, morning and afternoon circle time, reading, science exploration, cooking, math, sight word recognition, dramatic play, portfolio development, journal writing and more. Weekly activities include Hebrew, Spanish, music and yoga. There are several off-campus chaperoned field trips throughout the year. Children are expected to be toilet trained for this program.
